Due to High Wave and Wild Sea, The Follow on Medical team of YAKKUM/YEU to Mentawai is returning to Padang

Together with 18 medical personnel from the District Government Health Division, YAKKUM follow on medical team consists of 1 MD and 2 nurses who are on their way with small ship to Mentawai  has to return to the base at seaport in Padang after 2 hours in the sea, due to mounting high wave and wild sea.
It is still uncertain when they are able to reach Mentawai islands to extend help for the survivors of earthquake and tsunami hit the islands last week. According to Disaster National Task Force (BNPB), there are 15,097 people are affected and displaced, 427 died, 173 seriously injured and 75 are still missing. There are 517 heavily damaged houses. Mentawai islands has been isolated and having poor infrastructure despite the fact that its located above very active tectonic plates.
